Whatever you think or feel about our President Obama, you have to admit that there is a surreal quality in his journey to the presidency. The drawing shows President Obama aging (as all Presidents do) and surrounded by the faces, past and present, of the left and near-left on the political spectrum. The cross suspended in front of his forehead represents the characterization (or mischaracterization) of his messianic quality. The bonfire surrounding his persona represents his narcissisms (an absolute requirement for any president successful or not). The flames burning and the rising smoke over the Presidents head symbolize the war he must and does fight against evil in the world. The face above President Obama is a service member committing the ultimate sacrifice for keeping us safe. His serious and sad countenance bespeaks his painful spiritual growth in office. The snakes and serpents are indicative of the challenge of herding the Democratic Party and of complex foreign entanglements.
